Biography by AllMovie

The infamous automaton "Q" in the 1919 Harry Houdini serial The Master Mystery, Syracuse-educated Floyd Buckley had studied at the American Academy of Drama and appeared in musical comedy stock companies. Onscreen from the mid-1910s, Buckley made serials his specialty -- menacing Pearl White in Pearl of the Army (1916) and Irene Castle in Patria (1917) -- but then went behind the cameras as treasurer and general manager of the Frontier Features company, a minor producer of "red-blooded plays" founded by character actor Anders Randolf.
