Biography by AllMovie

A highly dramatic stage actress from Germany, the oddly named Valli Valli came to American films with much fanfare courtesy of the Metro company, who starred her in such melodramas as The Woman Pays (1915), in which she is disfigured after being hit by a bolt of lightning, and The Turmoil (1916). Alas, the brunette star was perhaps too dramatic for the more intimate art of motion picture acting and quickly returned to Broadway and London's West End.
