Biography by AllMovie

A tall (reportedly 6'2'') French silent screen star who played Jean Valjean in the 1925 version of Les Misérables, dark-haired, blue-eyed Gabriel Gabrio attempted to launch a Hollywood career in 1929. Sound, however, made that proposition untenable and he returned to France where he portrayed Cesare Borgia opposite Edwige Feuillere in Abel Gance's Lucrezia Borgia (1935) and played top supporting roles in Pepe le Moko (1937) and Les Visiteurs du Soir (1942).
