Cinematographer Ronnie Taylor has been a lighting director since the mid-'70s. Before that, he spent many years as a camera operator for Freddie Francis. Since making his debut as a cinematographer in 1975 on Ken Russell's Tommy (1975), Taylor has photographed a number of big-budget and highly regarded features including Gandhi (1982), which provided Taylor with an Oscar, and Cry Freedom (1987).
