The daughter of a prominent French artist, Odile Versois was a member of the Paris Opera Corps de Ballet before reaching her teens. She made her first film appearance in 1948 and went on to a substantial career in serene, cultured characterizations. One of her more flamboyant assignments was the role of Francesca de Rimini in 1953's Paolo and Francesca. Odile Versois was the sister of actresses Helene Vallier and Marina Vlady.
