biography
British actor Maxwell Reed entered films in 1947. At first, Reed enjoyed star billing in such films as The Brothers (1948) and The Dark Man (1951). Later on, he settled into such secondary roles as Ajax in Helen of Troy (1955) and "murder" victim Miles Hardwicke in The Notorious Landlady (1962). In 1955, he starred on the weekly TV series Captain David Grief, filmed in Mexico. Maxwell Reed was the first husband of actress Joan Collins.
