Mario Serandrei was one of Italy's most important film editors of the post-war era. Frequently working with Visconti, it was Serandrei who coined the term "neorealism" to describe Visconti's seminal film Ossessione. Serandrei worked with Visconti and other noted directors through the '60s. He occasionally billed himself as Mark Suran or Mark Sirandrews.
