biography
Briton Manning Haynes inaugurated his film career as an actor in 1918's Lead Kindly Light. Haynes switched to directing in the waning years of silent films. His credits in this capacity included The Ware Case (1928) and The Missing Witness (1933). He usually billed himself as H. Manning Haynes.
