Biography by AllMovie

British actress Olga Petrova (born Muriel Harding in England) starred as a femme fatale in a number of Hollywood silent films. Her exotic name was a fabrication of her studio, Metro, which billed her as a Polish-born Russian aristocrat. Actually, Petrova got her start in vaudeville and on Broadway; she made her film debut in 1914. Petrova retired from films and went back to stage work in 1918. She also penned and starred in three plays and published her autobiography, Butter With My Bread, in 1942.
