Luci Ward entered films in 1936 as a Warner Bros. contract writer. From 1937 until her retirement, Ward busied herself almost exclusively with Westerns. She wrote or co-wrote a number of B-grade horse operas, and such occasional A's as Black Bart (1948). Luci Ward's final credit was the 1957 sci-fier The Night the World Exploded.
