biography
American actress Linda Hayes was 19 years old when she was signed to an RKO contract in 1938. Hayes played leads in the medium-budget dramas Conspiracy (1939) and I'm Still Alive (1940). A likeable heroine, she was even more effective in such adversarial roles as the hero's cast-off fiancee in RKO's "Mexican Spitfire" entries. After leaving RKO, Linda Hayes worked at Columbia and Republic, then retired from films on the occasion of her marriage to radio announcer Lee Crosby. Hayes is the mother of actress Cathy Lee Crosby.
