California native Lauren Conrad rose to fame in 2004 as one of the stars of the MTV reality show Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County. She later starred in the follow-up series The Hills, which documented her love life and fashion-industry aspirations. Once The Hills ended, Conrad reinvented herself as a novelist, releasing her first book, L.A. Candy in 2009, and a fashion designer, launching several successful collections.
