Actress Katie Leung had no intention of becoming an actress when she auditioned for the role of Cho Chang in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire at an open casting call in her hometown of Glasgow, Scotland. In fact, the then-18-year-old had never even performed in a school play, but at her father's encouragement, she attended the audition and a few callbacks later, she was known to millions of Harry Potter fans as Cho. Born to Chinese immigrants, Leung is fluent in Cantonese. She attended high school at the prestigious Hamilton College in South Lanarkshire before being cast in Goblet of Fire. After Leung was chosen from among thousands of girls for the coveted role of Cho, she decided to see her acting ventures through to the end, signing on for the next movie, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, and vowing to improve her craft and become as good an actress as possible.
