Opera star-turned-supporting and occasional leading actress, Julia Migenes made her film debut playing the title role in Francesco Rosi's adaptation of Bizet's Carmen (1980). Born Julia Mouzianakis, she was first billed as Julia Migenes-Johnson, but dropped the extra surname following her divorce.
