After nearly a decade of appearing in guest roles on everything from The Cosby Mysteries to The Sopranos, and after a recurring role on the prison drama Oz, Bronx-born Judy Reyes gained prominence in 2001 when she was cast as the feisty Nurse Carla Espinosa on NBC's medical comedy Scrubs.
