biography
On-stage from childhood, British actress Judi Bowker first attracted international attention as star of the 1972 TV-series version of Black Beauty. Bowker was brought to the big screen by Franco Zefferelli, who cast her as Clare in the 1973 Francis of Assissi biopic Brother Sun, Sister Moon. Her best-known film appearance was as Andromeda in the Ray Harryhausen swashbuckler Clash of the Titans (1981). Judi Bowker's youthful haughtiness has since been successfully exploited in frosty, aristocratic roles.
