Biography by AllMovie

Warner Bros. ingenue Joyce Reynolds grabbed filmgoers' attention with two uncredited but prominent minor film roles. Reynolds played the energetic teenager who spoils the solitude of aging George M. Cohan (James Cagney) in Yankee Doodle Dandy (1942), and the dewy-eyed autograph seeker in Thank Your Lucky Stars (1942). She went on to play Clara Clemens in the super-production The Adventures of Mark Twain (1943). In 1944, she graduated to stardom as the bobby-soxer title character in WB's Janie (1944). Unfortunately, Joyce Reynolds' career momentum slowed down after this high point, and by 1950 she had retired from the screen.
