biography
The son of Dutch-born Hollywood actress Carrie Daumery, John Daumery assisted emigré Hollywood director Rex Ingram on Mare Nostrum (1926) prior to signing with Warner Bros. He became a busy assistant director and was awarded full directorship on several of the company's French-language films. Returning to Europe, Daumery settled in Great Britain, where he helmed a series of lightweight programmers.
