biography
American character actress Joan Blair (born Lilian Wilck in New York City) got her start playing ingenues with the Ziegfeld Follies. From there she appeared on stage in various stock companies and tour groups. She launched her film career in the early '30s and went on to appear in numerous films, including Citizen Kane (1941) and Earthquake (1974), through the mid '70s. She also continued her stage career and worked on television where she appeared on such series as My Little Margie and Mr. District Attorney. Blair was 93 when she passed away following a brief illness.
