biography
A former stock company actor who made his stage debut at the Central Theatre in San Francisco in 1901 (opposite, incidentally, a young D.W. Griffith), American silent-screen leading man J. Morris Foster enjoyed a two-year relationship with the New Rochelle-based Thanhouser Company. Although Foster appeared in scores of Thanhouser productions, few have survived and he is perhaps best remembered for two serials opposite daredevil rider Ann Little -- The Blue Fox (1921) and Nan of the North (1922). Foster married Thanhouser actress Mignon Anderson in 1915, a union that would last a lifetime.
