biography
Educated at the Royal Theater in Copenhagen, Danish-born Ivan Christy (born Ivan Wöhlk Christensen) appeared in American stock companies with Willard Mack and Max Figman before entering the burgeoning film industry around 1915. Basically a bit player, Christy did enjoy a couple of good opportunities, especially in Island Wives (1922), as a lecherous trader attempting to molest beautiful Corinne Griffith. Christy continued playing bit parts into the sound era but apparently left screen acting after 1936's The Lone Wolf Returns, in which he played a waiter. He died of a heart attack at the Walt Disney studios in Burbank, CA, where he had long been employed as a guard.
