biography
Danish filmmaker and screenwriter Ib Melchior appeared on many early American television programs. He also wrote and directed early episodes. In the late '50s, he turned to feature films. He was born and raised in Copenhagen and started out working in theater as an actor and a stage manager before attending Stenhus College. During WWII, Melchior worked for a time with U.S. military intelligence. In addition to writing and directing fictionalized features, Melchior has also worked with several documentaries and has written two novels.
