Filmmaker Claudia Heuermann specializes in documentaries. Educated at the FH Trier, where she studied art and design, and at Cologne's Academy of Media Arts, she gained her first professional experience as assistant director for Peter F. Bringmann on Heaven or Bust. She was then appointed production manager on Susanne Ofteringer's Nico-Icon. Heuermann has done a number of short films, but has thus far gained the most positive notice for her feature length documentary Sabbath in Paradise (1997).
