biography
A veteran stage actor from England who had appeared in Shakespearean stock with Richard Mansfield, Herbert Barrington (real name Herbert Barrington Bosworth) made his Broadway debut in the hit show Floradora in 1900 and later starred in When We Were Twenty-One. By 1911, he was acting in films for all the early companies, including Edison, Solax, Thanhouser, Pilot, and Biograph, and according to extant reviews made a stalwart Duke of Buckingham in a two-part screen version of The Three Musketeers (1911). He continued in pictures until retirement in 1920, mostly appearing for various Universal companies.
