biography
French comic actor Henri Marchand left behind a small but memorable gallery of film appearances. His best-remembered and best-loved performance was as Emile in Rene Clair's early talkie classic A Nous a Liberte. Most of his later roles were cameos and many were uncredited, but Marchand was always worth watching even in the tiniest of assignments. Henri Marchand retired in 1956 after making a brief appearance in Till Eulenspiegel.
