French film editor Henri Colpi has worked on Alain Resnais's best films. He is also a respected filmmaker whose most famous film is the distinguished The Long Absence/Une Aussi Longue Absence (1961). Colpi has written an important, comprehensive film history book, Le Cinéma et Ses Hommes (1947 ).
