biography
Before becoming a screenwriter, Harry McCoy was an actor with Mack Sennett's comedy troupe. Getting his start in Keystone films in 1911, McCoy performed in many comedy shorts, including some of Chaplin's earliest efforts. He turned to writing scripts for slapstick films in the '20s and after that only made the occasional film appearance.
