Harry Lamont (born Alfred Gilbert) had run away with a minstrel show at the age of ten. A highly respected stage actor and vaudevillian, the tall, dark-haired Lamont made only sporadic screen appearances during the silent era but appeared in numerous bit parts in the '30s and '40s.
