biography
Having made 8-mm shorts, including Slash of the Knife, Henenlotter scored a success in 1982, writing and directing his first independent feature, the low-budget horror tale Basket Case; he also helmed the film's two sequels in the early '90s. Henenlotter's skill at combining humor with scares similarly informs his other horror films Frankenhooker and Brain Damage.
