Biography by AllMovie

A cameraman for Selig in the early 1910s, Edward A. Kull later became a director at Universal, helming several of the company's popular two-reel Western series and such serials as The Diamond Queen (1921), Terror Trail (1921) (both featuring action heroine Eileen Sedgwick), and With Stanley in Africa (1922), starring George Walsh. There were a couple of feature films along the way but Kull generally had trouble escaping short subjects and returned instead to cinematography. In the sound era, he would co-direct with Wilbur McGaugh the low-budget serial The New Adventures of Tarzan (1935), filmed on location in Guatemala, but spent the remainder of his career cranking the camera on a host of Saturday matinee Westerns. His final film, Arctic Fury (1949), was released posthumously.
