biography
French actor Edouard Dermit starred in a few films by director Jean Cocteau. He made his debut playing a small part in the filmmaker's The Eagle Has Two Heads (1948). Dermit had his first starring role in Les Enfants Terribles (1950), which featured a screenplay by Cocteau. He went on to appear in two more films for Cocteau, Orpheus (1949) and The Testament of Orpheus (1962). When the director passed away the following year, Dermit served as his literary executor. He never appeared in another film.
