The son of actor/singer Dean Martin and Dean's second wife Jeannie, Dean Paul Martin inaugurated his own career as a member of the teenage rock group Dino, Desi and Billy (Desi was Desi Arnaz Jr.) The younger Martin attempted an acting career, which except for a well-received performance in 1979's Players was largely unremarkable. Though he would never set any fires at the box office, Martin distinguished himself as a top tennis pro, and (from all reports) as one of the nicest second-generation celebrities in Hollywood. For a short while, Martin was married to Romeo and Juliet leading lady Olivia Hussey. An officer in the California Air National Guard, 35-year-old Dean Paul Martin was killed in a jet crash during a training mission.
