Studio executive and producer David L. Wolper gained early recognition for his television documentaries and compilations with his Wolper Productions. He began producing feature films in the late '60s. After Wolper's company was taken into Metromedia, he began producing and co-producing his own films. He also functioned as an executive producer for the works of others.
