David C. Aldrich, the son of a Ziegfeld girl, first began performing on stage when he was still quite young. Later he played the rich kid in the Our Gang series of short comedies. As a young man Aldrich enrolled in the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. He then went on to work on the London stage, and ultimately to work as a theater director.
