biography
With the Selig Polyscope Company from 1911, dark-haired supporting actor Roy Watson specialized in playing dyed-in-the-wool villains, notably in serials and Westerns. Watson appeared as the evil Rajah in the groundbreaking Kathlyn Williams chapterplay The Adventures of Kathlyn (1913) and was the master criminal in two Elmo Lincoln serials, Elmo the Fearless and The Flaming Disc (1920). Although playing mostly bit parts after the advent of sound, the Virginia-born character actor portrayed Jefferson Davis in Carolina (1934).
