biography
Famous in the very early 1910s as the "Eclair Kid," former child actress Clara Horton later played Becky Thatcher to Jack Pickford's Tom Sawyer (1917) and enjoyed a brief vogue as a Mary Pickford-like ingenue in the early '20s. The flapper era put a stop to that and she concluded her screen career with low-budget Westerns and action-adventures opposite the likes of Buddy Roosevelt and the boxer George O'Hara. An extra in sound films of the 1930s, Horton later worked as a saleslady in Whittier, CA.
