The brother of 1910s Western star Joe Ryan, Chet Ryan (born Chester Ryan) usually played lawmen but was equally well cast as the notorious Cocas Kid in Border Women, a 1924 William Fairbanks vehicle. Like his brother, Ryan retired from films prior to sound.
