A vaudeville producer and performer of some note, Charles Thurston began turning up in films around 1918, often Westerns, and usually playing elderly lawmen. He retired following the advent of sound, but came back briefly to play an aged Cole Younger in Buck Jones's Unknown Valley (1933).
