biography
Kansas-born Charles Cruz spent several years touring with stock companies in St. Louis, MO, and Chicago. Of Mexican ancestry, Cruz entered films in 1921 and became a favorite of producer/director/leading man Charles Hutchison, who cast the dark-haired youngster in villainous roles. Like most of his contemporaries, Cruz left films at the changeover to sound.
