Documentary filmmaker and script writer Carlton Moss created works that celebrated or explored the lives of American blacks. In 1944, Moss teamed up with Frank Capra and wrote the screenplay for the instructional film The Negro Soldier, a tribute to the contributions of African-American men and women to America's various war efforts.
