biography
Hollywood's most woebegone urchin, little Bruce Guerin came to films in 1922, courtesy of his sister Marjorie, who had appeared for D.W. Griffith in the 1910s. Young master Guerin, the least cute-looking of Hollywood tots, played the child hero in several films, but is perhaps best remembered as the rather grubby toddler in Josef Von Sternberg's infamous failure The Salvation Hunters (1925). The film, an attempt at social realism that went awry, did little for anyone involved, including Guerin, who retired shortly after at the ripe old age of six.
