biography
A blond leading lady of low-budget pictures in the late '20s, Betty Caldwell had studied art and drama prior to entering vaudeville as a dancer. After appearing opposite the likes of Dynamite, one of Rin Tin Tin's lesser rivals, and such also-ran cowboys as Kermit Maynard and Rex Bell, Caldwell left films at the changeover to sound. A different Betty Caldwell (born 1926) appeared in films in the 1940s.
