biography
Barry Barringer entered films as an actor in the years just prior to World War I. In 1923, he decided to become a director, and in honor of this career changed his professional name to A. B. Barringer. From 1931 until his retirement in 1936, he worked as a screenwriter, specializing in medium- to low-budget films. Barry Barringer's most famous screenwriting effort was the well-distributed 1934 serial The Return of Chandu.
