biography
Arthur Laurents is best known as the distinguished playwright who penned such plays as Home of the Brave, West Side Story and Gypsy. These were later adapted into films by others. Laurents also collaborated on and wrote screenplays himself including The Way We Were, adapted from his novel in 1973, and The Turning Point (1977).
