biography
George Winslow, born George Wentzlaff in Los Angeles, earned his nickname "Foghorn" for having an unusually loud, raucous, and deep voice. He was popular during the '50s and made his debut on Art Linkletter's People Are Funny television series. He made a few films during the '50s, but the novelty of his voice soon wore thin and by the time he was 12, Foghorn Winslow was a has-been.
