biography
Better known as a real-life daredevil who twice completed a transcontinental motor trip, reportedly the first woman to attempt this feat, Anita King enjoyed some popularity in films of the 1910s, especially under the direction of Cecil B. DeMille, who cast her as the "Other Woman" opposite Geraldine Farrar in both Carmen (1915) and Maria Rosa (1916). She briefly became a star in her own right but left films in 1919.
