After appearing in a number of Mexican television series throughout the 1990s, actress Adriana Barraza was seen by international audiences for the first time in 2000 with a supporting role in director Alejandro González Iñárritu's critically acclaimed ensemble film Amores Perros. In 2006, she re-teamed with Iñárritu for the equally well-received Babel and netted both Golden Globe and Oscar nominations for her performance.
