The doctors at an asylum get a new digital video camera and begin taping their patients. This inspires two of the patients -- the effusive madman Tincek (Matjaz Javsnik) and the mute but enthusiastic Hugo (Drago Milinovic) -- to steal the camera, escape from the institution, and make a film. Hugo films the action as Tincek draws a crowd by standing on a bridge over a river, acting like he's going to jump. Later, Tincek decides that they will be the heroes, that they will rescue a girl, and that at the end of the film, she will kiss them. Hugo gives his silent assent, and the two men set out looking for their damsel in distress. They follow a depressed prostitute, Magdalena (Aleksandra Balmazovic), into her flat and attempt to enlist her in the project, but her pimp, Zare (Valter Dragan), shows up and they're forced to hide under the bed while he abuses her. After he leaves, Tincek tries to convince her to let them save her, but she tells them the only thing that can save her is death. So Tincek and Hugo agree to help Magdalena commit suicide and dispose of her body so her beloved grandmother (Marica Globocnik), the one person who cares about her, won't know what she's done. This black comedy, the debut feature of filmmaker Vojko Anzeljc, is one of the most financially successful Slovenian films of all time. It was shown in competition at the 2002 Tribeca Film Festival.
