Synopsis by Fred Beldin

A small town in Florida is rocked by scandal and murder after a spoiled rich girl goes slumming with a good-hearted boy from the wrong side of the tracks. Their secret meetings in the woods result in Joan Denton (Jeanne Rainer) becoming pregnant, and she's determined to have an abortion so as not to interfere with her plans of college parties and a more socially upstanding husband in the future. Meanwhile, Eddie Mercer (Ted Marshall) loves Joan and is deeply troubled by the idea of losing the child. After butting heads over the matter, Joan confides in her father (Charles Martin), a doctor who is certain that Eddie is only interested in getting a piece of the family fortune. Though the money means nothing to him, Eddie is thrown in jail under false pretenses to keep him quiet. Soon a big-city lawyer is informed of the matter and takes the case to clear Eddie's name, but it's not enough to keep Eddie from breaking out of jail the night before Joan's scheduled abortion. When she discovers that he's camped out at the local orphanage, she decides that a gun is her only option. This rarely screened exploitation vehicle from Today Theatre Production Inc. was also known as The Touch of Flesh.
