Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Mourning the apparent death of Jean Grey, Cyclops returns to the orphanage whence he came. Here he meets his old friend Sara, who tells him of a wealthy benefactor who has offered to adopt all orphaned mutants. In truth, however, the orphans are being organized into a deadly anti-human army. "No Mutant Is an Island" was originally filmed for X-Men's third season, to be shown between the two "Phoenix" sagas to explain why the supposedly deceased Jean Grey has returned to the living. Instead, the episode was withheld from view until the series' fifth and final season.
